Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 48 years, Joan McClellan Podunavac son, Michael J. He was a faithful member of the McConnell Tabernacle. He was a 1965 graduate of Logan High School and an honorary graduate in 1964. He loved to bowl and play with his grandchildren. He was retired from Pittston Coal Company. Sammy worked at Logan Regional Medical Center in the dietary department. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by four sisters: Anna Lyons, Helen Wilburn, Gladys Podunavac, and Mary Podunavac four brothers: Willie, Nick, Roy, and Don “Duck” Podunavac father-in-law and mother-in-law, Harley and Kathleen McClellan three sisters-in-law: Betty, Reva, and Jane Podunavac and four brothers-in-law: Charles Wilburn, John Armstrong, John Shriver, and Bill Crum. Born in Ethel, he was the son of the late Mike and Hurl Podunavac. Sammy Harlan Podunavac, 69, of Stollings, passed away Wednesday, Maat Logan Regional Medical Center.
